'It's never too late to create!'  

Come and see if that's true for you, by joining our FREE 'taster' workshop  

on Wednesday, October 10th 2018  and learn how to write a stage play.  

The workshop is part of the Age of Creativity Festival, organised by 

AgeUK Oxfordshire and aimed specifically at the older aspiring playwright.  

You need no previous experience. Topics we'll cover include:


  • Developing a compelling story line 
  • Exploiting the narrative arc
  • Creating three dimensional characters
  • Writing believable dialogue

Our writing courses explore life stories, experiences, hopes and fears.   We aim to inspire people, from every 
walk of life, to fulfil their unique potential, expressing themselves through the power of drama, 
playwriting  and improvisation, actively looking for solutions not problems - opportunities not barriers.
 

BOOK EARLY! Our next 8 week Playwriting for Beginners Course starts on January 17th 2019 and is then every 

Thursday, from 2.30pm - 4.30pm. The course will:

  • Teach you the basic craft of writing a compelling stage play
  • Provide individual feedback within a supportive and encouraging group
  • Provide the opportunity to hear from professional actors and theatre directors
  • Invite play submissions for our 2019 competition, with the winning play going on a professional tour of 
residential/care homes in Oxfordshire
  • Provide you with information on theatres and opportunities for your play.


Time:            2.30 - 4.30pm

Location:   South Oxford Community Centre, Lake Street, Oxford OX1 4RP

Cost:             £60 for eight weeks

(bus to Hinksey Park. Some Blue Badge parking on-site, but easy parking available in Hinksey Park, short walk across the park.)
