TASTER WORKSHOP - 10 OCTOBER 2018

Come and see if that's true for you, by joining our FREE 'taster' workshop  on Wednesday, 10th October 2018  and learn how  to write a stage play.  


The workshop is part of the Age of Creativity Festival organised by AgeUK Oxfordshire and aimed specifically at the older aspiring playwright.  You need no previous experience.  



Topics we'll cover include:


  • Developing a compelling story line
  • Exploiting the narrative arc
  • Creating three dimensional characters
  • Writing believable dialogue

2019 PLAYWRITING FOR BEGINNERS

 
 
Our writing courses explore life stories, experiences, hopes and fears.   We aim to inspire people, from every walk of life, to fulfil their unique potential, expressing themselves through the power of drama, playwriting  and improvisation, actively looking for solutions not problems - opportunities not barriers.
 

BOOK EARLY 


Our next 8 week Playwriting for Beginners Course starts on 15th January 2019 and is then every Tuesday, from 2pm-4pm. 


The course will:


  • Teach you the basic craft of writing a compelling stage play
  • Provide individual feedback within a supportive and encouraging group
  • Provide the opportunity to hear from professional actors and theatre directors
  • Invite play submissions for our 2019 competition, with the winning play going on a professional tour of 
            residential/care homes in Oxfordshire
  • Provide you with information on theatres and opportunities for your play.


Time:             2.00pm-4.00pm

Location:    North Oxford Community Centre, Diamond Place, Summertown, OX2 7DP

Cost:              £60 for 8 weeks

(Buses to Summertown and also easy pay and display parking available  in front of the centre)
